So, I ordered a set of ADG faceplates, skull and body on TIB from the fabulous Velusa on TIB. She already did some customizing and she created some sleep eyes for my new girl. Hooray.
Here are some pictures that she took, as my girl was getting ready to come home to me:
Love this shot. Full of possibility!
-And here she is, indulging in some inversion therapy while waiting for her skull glue to dry.
Once she was all dry, she was packed up and sent off to me.
She arrived a few days ago. I noticed something odd right away. First of all there was a strange meowing and scratching coming from the box. When I pulled my lovely hairless girl out - she... I swear... she growled at me!
I tried to understand what she was saying - but it was a challenge.
Freckles? Is that what she wanted?
(It turns out she was saying whiskers, but I've never been much of a cat person - so what did I know?)
Once I painted the freckles, she demanded a... what? A.. a nose? She had a nose! Nope. She needed a different nose.
Now, for an inexperienced customizer like myself, I have to admit all of this made me a little sad, but I indulged in her request for a nose (it is hard to say no to a Blythe) and then for ears, and a tail, and so on and so on. Here was our tragic first result:
But, as it turns out - she was only sharpening her claws.
That night, as I slept - I awoke to the worst yeowling ever! The rest of my girls were pulling their cute sleep masks off ans yelling "Knock it off!"
I couldn't figure out - what in the world!!??
And then, little miss Cherry Wren strutted up to me and explained a thing or two.
First of all, the gingham HAD to go. Second of all, the yellow was offensive. No self respecting black cat would be seen in yellow Third of all her whiskers were a joke.
I rubbed my eyes. "But, but I don't know how to customize and I don't know how to paint, and I can't afford to send you off to someplace where they could do something like this... I... I..."
"Grrrrrrr....HUSH!" Cherry Wren growled at me.
And then she stormed away.
Sigh. In the morning, ALL of my girls were grumpy from their lack of sleep. This was NOT good.
So, I did what any dedicated (obsessive compulsive?) Blythe mommy would do - and I pulled out my paints and glitter and glue. A girl's gotta do, what a girl's gotta do.
By no means perfect. Certainly not a custom that would ever be put up for sale, but she's a happier kitty now. I think I actually heard her purrr...
Meet Cherry Wren, the Naughty Kitten:
Man. My Blythe house is gittin' crowded.
In a good way!
Happy day everyone!
