Today we are excited to introduce you to one of our awesome Pleasanton Craft Mafia sisters - Joanna Crawshaw!

Joanna lives in Livermore, and her early artistic inspirations come from nature, by way of memories of her father's flower garden, trips to the coast, and to the redwoods. She is very interested in patterns and textures found in nature's palette. More recently she has been inspired by the "Arts and Crafts" and "de Stijl" movements.*
Joanna has recently been concentrating more on the purely aesthetic quality of her work rather than a subject or meaning. Though Joanna still enjoys portraits, she is very excited about creating abstract work that says something different to each person; drawing her audience into her work and allowing them their own personal experience. Her most recent work has been inspired by her love of vintage automobiles and the culture surrounding them; this is most evident in her take on traditional pin up art.

Joanna has a website, here.
*Stay tuned for tomorrows Tuesday Tips and Techniques, when we will clarify just what the "Arts and Crafts" and "de Stijl" movements are! (You all obviously know, I however thought the latter was a ballet position. You learn something new every day!)
Also - funderfabulous pics of The South Bay Soiree will presented this coming Saturday during our Saturday Sale post. In the meantime, those of you dying for info - check out my doll blog, as Ellie insisted that her adventures at the South Bay Soiree be recorded asap!
