A Lifetime of Happiness for PCM Member Roni Seabury!

PCM/ZNE Member Roni Seabury was married this past weekend. Roni is the crafting wonder behind the vegan jewelry line, Daisy Wares - www.DaisyWares.net.

ZNE has made a small contribution to AnimalPlace.org in honor of Roni's wedding.

Monday ~ Meet a Member ~ Yosh!

Yosh! is an oakland based company of one girl, one boy, and two talented kitties. All their embroidery is hand sewn and each t-shirt is individually silk screened in their small workshop.

Leah Hitchcock Ybarra ~ Michon

We had this great picture today, and we figured we would share it with you for our Monday Meet a Member feature.  Granted, we've shown you her lovely lovely jeweled creations in a past Friday Finds post, it is a good time to meet Leah anew.  Her hand crafted jewelry continues to be exquisite, this picture was taken in The ZNE Studios last weekend during the PCM Summer Splash event.

Did Leah have a big lunch?  No.  That's a wee bambino tucked in that tummy.  She's expecting, early next year.  Hooray!

Monday Meet a Member ~ Sally Haig

Today is Meet a Member day here on the PCM blog - and we are delighted to introduce you to Sally Haig.

It's Monday, so that means we get to introduce you to another PCM member!

Kim Pace is a talented jewelry artist.  On her website, you find this description of her skill and inspiration:

"Artistic expression is a lifelong journey for Kim. Thanks to the influence of her highly talented grandfather, she inherited a love of creative exploration – in the visual arts, music, writing and the garden. Having received a BA in Fine Arts from Binghamton University, it was after a trip to Israel in 2001 that she discovered the art of jewelry making. Forging a partnership with a family from Jerusalem, she began importing and selling their finely fashioned jewelry. It was this relationship that impassioned Kim to design her first collection. Her work is now exhibited and sold at select art galleries, boutiques and special events. "

What is it?  Who is it?  What does it mean and what will it do?

You'll just have to wait.  Pacific Coast Mestieri will debut on July 15, 2007 ~ and promises to be an incredible resources for artists and craftsters all across California!

Monday Meet a Member ~ Chelise Stroud Hery

Chelise Stroud Hery is a professional mixed media artist living in the San Francisco Bay Area.  In addition to being a whimsical artisan whose work is collected by patrons worldwide, Chelise also has extensive experience providing art and art-business related workshops.  She is known for being a talented and engaging public speaker.

Chelise’s artwork was juried in to the 2002 Pro Arts Gallery (Oakland, CA) Emerging Artists show, and she has sold pieces in other local galleries as well.  However, Chelise is largely a self representing artist and she has made building a support structure and community of fellow self representing artists a cornerstone of her professional life.

Among her many accomplishments, Chelise is the founder of the international mixed media art group, variaZioNE (or, ZNE).  ZNE is well known in the mixed media art community as a vibrant and active group, and it boasts over 1,000 members worldwide.

In the summer of 2006, Chelise also founded The Pleasanton Craft Mafia.  The Pleasanton Craft Mafia is a San Francisco Bay Area local group comprised of 100+ artisans who collaborate on art and craft shows, workshops, and social outings. 

A California Native, Chelise has completed courses in art history and the creative process through the Cal State East Bay University system ~ however, she is primarily self taught.  Her teaching style incorporates her emphasis on the joy of creating as opposed to flawless technique.

Monday Meet a Member! Joanna Crawshaw

Today we are excited to introduce you to one of our awesome Pleasanton Craft Mafia sisters - Joanna Crawshaw!

Joanna lives in Livermore, and her early artistic inspirations come from nature, by way of memories of her father's flower garden, trips to the coast, and to the redwoods.  She is very interested in patterns and textures found in nature's palette.  More recently she has been inspired by the "Arts and Crafts" and "de Stijl" movements.*

Joanna has recently been concentrating more on the purely aesthetic quality of her work rather than a subject or meaning. Though Joanna still enjoys portraits, she is very excited about creating abstract work that says something different to each person; drawing her audience into her work and allowing them their own personal experience.  Her most recent work has been inspired by her love of vintage automobiles and the culture surrounding them; this is most evident in her take on traditional pin up art.
