Annie Yu is The Spirit of ZNE!

"Today i was at a meeting. there was a big bottle of cranberry juice. i spilled a bit on the table and mopped it up with a coffee filter. i liked the delicate look it had on the filter. it was a dreamy ballerina pink. i liked this so i kept soaking it in the cup for more color..." - Annie Yu

Annie Yu is an American artist, living in San Francisco. She loves to create collages and altered items, and zines as well. She sells both in her etsy store.  As you can see from the quote above, Annie is an industrious artist.  "I use scraps of paper both vintage and modern. i love bus transfers, maps, the insides of envelopes, old sheet music, vintage ads and paper that just catches my eye."   Apparently, even coffee filters stained with cranberry juice are fodder for her wonderful work.

KATHERINE SNOW

Katherine Snow is The Spirit of ZNE!

Katherine Snow is an American artist living in Idaho.  She is a talented artist who excels in many mediums.  Katherine is adept at creating altered books, assemblage work, and flat collage.  Recently, she created and sold a few altered children's watercolor trays, which she called her "Color Me" series.  The image above, which exemplifies her colorful and whimsical style, is from one of her altered books.

STACIE RIFE

Stacie Rife is The Spirit of ZNE!

"The Creative Process puts me in a place where my sub-consious takes over and time is a blur." - Stacie Rife

Stacie Rife is an American Artist living in the Pacific Northwest.  Stacie lives with her husband Jeff, and her dog Scout.  No mention of Stacie would be complete without also mentioning her beloved dog Bailey, who passed away in February of 2006. Stacie is known for being a devoted wife, dog mom (and dog lover!) and an extraordinary artist.  Stacie both writes and creates art about her life, and her loves.  For example, she loves asparagas, loves art books, loves watching her dogs sleep, and she envies her husband's eyebrows.  ("He has THE best eyebrows ever!" she says.)

On Stacie's blog, she describes herself a "wanna be" mixed media collage artist.  Here at ZNE, we know for a fact that Stacie joined the ranks of the finest mixed media artists out there, a long time ago.

Amy Solovay is The Spirit of ZNE!

"I am obsessed with fabric and repeating patterns, it is likely that I will draw on these inspirations for quite some time to come." - Amy Solovay

Amy Solovay is an American artist living in Southern California.  She has a textile design background and says that much of her art is influenced by "Los Angeles’ fashion scene as well as by the influential interior designers who live and work in the city." Amy describes her work as “Art Inspired By Fabric, Fashion and Interior Design”.  Amy also enjoys collecting and exploring vintage paper lace and its application in greeting cards and artwork.  She has a paperlace blog for this purpose alone.  Another component of her mixed media artwork is a specialty called spin art.  Amy says she enjoys using spin art "to explore more harmonious color combinations, from the traditional to the contemporary. In my larger work, I strive for beauty, harmony and “live-ability”- work that I feel people would love to live with, to enjoy, to revel in, to be enraptured by."  Here at ZNE, it goes without saying that we love to live with, enjoy, revel in, and be enraptured by her incredible artistic creations!

Jacqueline Myers Cho is The Spirit of ZNE!

Jacqueline Myers Cho is an American artist living in Southern California.  She is a mixed media artist who specializes in assemblage artwork, doll making, collage, and painting.  She is also well known for creating unique aprons that are works of art in and of themselves.  She is currently writing a book about her aprons.  Here at ZNE, we'd be willing to wear her artwork, any day!

LANI KENT

Lani Kent is The Spirit of ZNE!

"My faith has breathed life into my work and I feel truly honored to share my musings for other kindred spirits who might have traveled similar journeys."  - Lani Kent

Lani Kent is an American artist living in Washington state.  In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Lani is an extraordinary vocalist, and a mixed media artist known for her inspirational creations.  Lani says she has been creating since early childhood.  She can still recall "journaling, singing and painting freely." As a young adult, most of Lani's creativity was expressed through music and poetry.  It wasn't until after she was married and her children were born that she and her best friend "designed a line of rubber stamps called "Mere Reflections" and began to enter the world of rubber stamps and eventually altered art."

Lani says that her art is particularly driven by her personal journey of recovering from early childhood wounds.  She has found that sharing her works with other survivors "seemed to move their hearts in a way that blessed my own." She describes her art business and studio name, as such - "Healing Expressions."  Healing Expressions began as a way to share in the form of art, words and images that would "soothe, heal and inspire authenticity and transparency in the hearts and souls of others."

MARSHA GOLDBLATT

Marsha Goldblatt is The Spirit of ZNE!

Marsha Goldblatt is an American artist living in Pennsylvania.  Marsha has had an artistic drive since childhood.  For close to twenty years she owned "Country Classics," a decorative accessory and gift store in East Norriton, PA.  From her shop, she created custom collages for clients using vintage materials. 

Marsha has also been very successful in interior design, and says that she sees her design projects as "large collages."  Whether she is creating assemblage curios such as the one above, flat collage, decorative furniture - or entire rooms, ZNE is delighted that Marsha is part of the collage of our extraordinary membership!

Mark Owen Zewe is The Spirit of ZNE!

Mark Owen Zewe is an American artist living in California. He is a talented Graphic Designer and has been working in his field for over a quarter century.  Mark is a spiritual man, and is very appreciative of his success.  He says that he thanks "the Lord daily for blessing me."

Mark is always happy to work with customers on custom projects.  He says that if a customer has a particular need or an idea he will help them at a rate as if they "were family."  As for us - we are glad that Mark is a part of the ZNE family!

KIMBERLY SUE WLAASAK

Kimberly Sue Wlaasak is The Spirit of ZNE!

"The freedom of collage is addictive!" - Kimberly Sue Wlaasak

Kimberly Sue Wlaasak is an American artist living in Southern California.  She is a very talented artist, and enjoys working in mixed media and collage, as well as creating whimsical stuffed dolls, which she calls "Gnarly Dolls."  Kimberly calls her collage art studio and website Garden Painter Art.  She chose this name because all of her collage creations incorporate an element of a photo or photos of her own garden.

Kimberly says her passion for collage started in elementary school and her fascination for collage lies in the fact that she can "create worlds that never truly existed together before."  She particularly enjoys working with vintage images and "homeless" vintage photos, because she can "inter-twine different time periods and can make things live together that never lived together before."
