Eau de France - Margaret Shank - ITEM 87
Description: This beautiful collage was created by the artist Margaret Shank.
The collage base is a 6x6 inch museum-stretched canvas (no staples on edges).
The artwork is painted with acrylics and Halo Violet Gold Lumiere paint, then overlaid with a gel transfer of a pretty flapper girl glancing downwards. Collaged over that are distressed, aged reproductions of French cologne and soap labels. The final embellishment is an Art-Nouveau style, silvertone bead with a pink Swarovski crystal and marcasites. It is placed to look like the clasp of her shawl..
Minimum Open: $10.00

Just to note that it comes with the hanging chain.
At the point where the chain hangs on the wall, there is a bow made of vintage pink and deep violet ribbons plus crimson and black eyelash thread.
That link of the chain also has a wire spiral through it, ornamented with beads and sequins. (You can barely see these in the scan, and can't see the spiral wire at all, but it's very decorative.)
The chain extends below the canvas on both sides, and OOAK pink and violet glass beads with gold spirals in them, are wired to the ends.
It's called a pink & green collage, and it looks pink & green in the scan, but actually the colors are pink, red, dark violet, gold, and bronze with a slight green shimmer.
Happy bidding -- I used to sell these gel transfer collages for $20 and up, in the good old days...

Sorry for the double posting -- I can't see where to delete the extra one.
This is to add that the chain is antique-finished brass, and the wire is gold colored.
And, that the piece comes with the hanging chain PLUS a decorative matching hanger. So all you have to do is stick the pin in your wall, hang the collage, and you're all set.
Cheers,
Margaret
