Altered Everything ~ Everything Altered Donates to HSAS

In August, Chel's monthly altered art project workshop, Altered Everything, Everything Altered - was held to benefit HSAS.  All participants made multiple artist trading cards and/or altered tags, and donated at least one of each to benefit HSAS.

Here is the wonderful selection that was donated:

Several of the tags were sold at PCM's Summer Splash event.  The rest will be made available for purchase during the October Auction to benefit HSAS!

Gina Gabriell at Summer Splash

P1010571 PCM's Summer Splash event was lovely, and made even more so by the presence of Gina Gabriell, Stevie's mother.

Gina brought with her several items for sale to benefit HSAS (they will be featured in the coming days.  Watch this blog!) and she purchased this wonderful jar of baubles that was donated to HSAS by ZNE Member Lynne Wright.

Gina purchased the wonderful jar for $20, knowing that the money would benefit the memorial in honor of her daughter.  We are delighted this special donation is ending up with Gina!

THANK YOU LYNNE!

Lynne has a Ruby Lane store full of fabulous antiques and vintage items, here.

ZNE - Hope Sees a Star Benefit Collage Sheet - vintage whimsy

The first collage sheet sold today, so it has been relisted!  $2.00 may not seem like a lot, but we are that much closer to realizing our goal of creating this permanent memorial for Stevie and Brianna.

Hope Sees a Star - Art-Raiser

Artraiser_home_page__july

On Monday, Chel had a conference call with Kimiko Sakuma, one of the coordinators of Art-Raiser

From the Art Raiser website:

The central idea behind Art-Raiser is to help Artists and non-profits simultaneously and reciprocally.
This goal is accomplished through collaborative efforts by all of the parties involved.  Each month a different non-profit is featured in an online event which is built around raising funds for that organization. Artists submit their work to be posted on the ART-raiser website for sale.  Prior to submission the artist agree to donate a minimum of 20% of the net proceeds to the non-profit that is featured that month. The non-profit helps to promote the sale of the artwork by inviting their affiliates and co-workers to the event via email campaigns.
It is the diverse and creative work that each Artist submits that makes each online event unique. The Artists supply the artwork, which provides an opportunity for exposure to the public. The event provides a platform for the Artist to network and interact with the community.
Each event is held online for 4-5 weeks, which allows people access to the website at their convenience.

Kimiko agreed that Hope Sees a Star is a wonderful project, and in October of this year, an Art-Raiser will be held online to benefit the project.

You will hear more about this as we get closer to the date, as artists are invited to participate by selling their art online, and buyers are invited to participate by viewing and hopefully purchasing some of the art and crafts for sale.

20% of all proceeds will be donated to the Oakland Zoo to offset the $5,000 donation expense in conjunction with the memorial placement.

Thank you Kimiko and Art-Raiser!

If anyone else has creative ideas for raising the funds needed to make this project a reality - please let us know.  We will pursue as many avenues as possible!

Sometimes Heaven is So Close to Home

Img371web_3

We are so pleased to feature this stunning piece of artwork today.

ZNE member Brandie Isely created this amazing piece of artwork for the Hope Sees a Star program.  She added it to her blog, and before we could even get it on HSAS or ZNE website, the piece was purchased via a BIN.

Brandie is donating the $200 selling price to the Hope Sees a Star program, which will help us to put the down payment we need on the mosaic memorial piece.

The two girls featured in this piece of artwork are Brandie's daughter and good friend of her daughter's.

BRANDIE - Thank you SO MUCH for your donation.

ZNE is beginning to accept donations for the HSAS program.  If you would like to see a running tally of our expenses and donations, please click here.  If you would like to help in this important project, we need as much help as we can get!  Here is a link to our art and product donation submission form.

THANK YOU ALL!
