Jenny's Doll ~ Bernice Wagnitz~ ITEM ONE
"I would be happy to donate. I have a baby doll that I hand made some time ago to help me through my own loss. It just felt good to hold a baby again even if it wasn't my Jenny." - Bernice Wagnitz
Details:
This cloth doll measuring 18 inches was all hand made by the artist Bernice Wagnitz. The doll is totally oil painted and has a large embroidered heart on her chest. Her tiny hands feel just like a baby's hands. Her bonnet and dress are also hand made by Bernice, the dress measures 24 inches.
Bernice Wagnitz is also a ZNE member, and a mother who lost her child. Bernice's daughter Jenny died at the age of 26, ten years ago, in a terrible car crash. After Jenny's death, Bernice created this doll from Jenny's own original christening gown. The doll also wears Jenny's baby shoes.
Bernice has decided to donate this lovely doll, which is infused with a mother's love and the memories of her precious daughter - to help fund the Hope Sees a Star Memorial Project, to support Gina and Iva, fellow artists who have suffered a similar and heartbreaking loss.
Jenny's doll is looking for a special home where she will be cherished for who she is and all the love that had gone into her creation. She is a priceless piece of art.
