SISIS - ZNE BLOGZ

Check out these sweet shoes by Julee Hermann. She posted them on her blog heartcollective . Julee admits to the addiction of altering anything not nailed down....including her daughter's shoes. That's the first step to recovery or the sign of a true mixed media artist. Julle posted these tiny altered art works in response to the work by Ana Maria Seaton posted today on See It Say It Saturday on the ZNE BLOGZ site, May 24. 2008. Spring Showers Collage Sheets

Design Team Members, TiffanyJane and Ann Butler have been working with images from one of the new ZNE Collage Sheets that will soon be available from the ZNE Store. Spring Showers is the perfect description for the assorted water-ly images of rain and dew on the window, spider web and foliage photos on this beautiful collage sheet.

> Tiffany Jane made several lovely projects that make you want to go "sing and play" in the rain.

Ann's images were delightful, too! Who needs an umbrella or rain slicker....the rain just looks like too much fun!

Charming Sam Studio Collage Sheets

Kat Tarra, Julee Herrmann, MaryAnn McKeating,and Lennea Truesdell are up this month with the April Product Review.

Each of these Design Team members were sent collage sheets from ZNE Vendor Member, Charming Sam, in San Jose,California. Design Team Queen, Chel, instructed the group to "think outside the box, think creativity, be original, and have fun!" ( Our favorite part is....HAVING FUN!) Charming Sam Studios was born out of the interests of artist/designer, Amy Steinberg.  Her website/store offers a wonderful selection of jewlery, art and ephemera.You can read about Amy's artistic adventures on her blog, "Charming Sam Studios"

The Design Team members oooh-ed and ahhhh-ed when the collage sheets arrived in the mail. Those on the team assigned to another month, were of course, jealous and anxious to see what the DT came up with. Jul especially liked the smaller images for her jewelry pieces and created several stunning pieces layered with glass and mica.

The bunnies were immediately deemed approriate for tags by Lennea  and you can see her beautiful results, which she has hanging on her white feather tree.

Jul immediately fired back with some cute tags of her own.

Not to be out done, Kat applied a bunny to a domino with a beautiful end result.She directly applied the image to the domino and used alcohol inks for the background and then applied "environtex" ( a Canadian product that Kat says is similar to "diamond glaze")

Jul submitted her own little collage kingdom

Kat submitted her own version of the tags, recycling the ends of frozen juice cans!

Kat also came up with a necklace with an image in a filigree frame with matching chain.

Mary Ann came up with a wonderful collection of projects as well. She described the images as "very interesting & eclectic...a somewhat darker palette than what i'm typically used to, but i "worked it" & rather happy with how my efforts turned out". The Design Team was pretty happy with her results as well, here are her "covert menegarie" collage, "muse" locket charm, "waiting" altered matchbox, teeny tag & button inchies ."

Donna Cook! ZNE Design Team Hero of the Week!

Donna Cook is SPECIAL indeed!  She has been a member of ZNE since November of 2006.  She is a very active member, entering into her second year on The ZNE Design Team, and having participated in just about every ZNE Book Club session that we have had since we started that sub group.

Now Donna has taken on not one but two wonderful volunteer roles, and all of ZNE will benefit from her generosity!

Donna will now take over maintaining posts on The ZNE Design Team blog, so all of our wonderful product reviews, and Design Team project updates will be provided in a timely manner - thanks to Donna!

AND, Donna will be taking over as the ZNE Book Club Session Coordinator - in July.  Our Book Club selection for July is Suzanne Simanaitis' Kaleidoscope - and Donna will beging posting the weekly assignments, and the weekly member wrap-ups - at that time.

The ZNE Book Club benefits Bernie Berlin's A Place to Bark - so in fact, Donna is helping out all those animals in need, too - not just ZNE!
