And now a word from a most deep, darkest story…
Shhhhh, don't tell.
You are sworn to the most excellent secret tale.
But before we begin, I must warn you
There is no turning back, once you hear what I have to say.
Your life will never be the same again;
Every cell of your being will be altered,
Every thought you trusted will be shattered.
But isn't that why you are here?
You have always been one of the seekers
Disbelieving what people say...
Searching for the secret that lies beyond
So let's begin.
I love you.
And this surprises you how? You have always known
and if you didn't, it was not my fault,
Wrapped in your cocoon like nothing else mattered.
I am your Mother, the one who gave birth.
The person who loves you more than anyone on this earth,
Out of Sight, Out of Mind
Yet always in your heart.
I'm the silent voice who reminds you to eat well,
to be safe, to save your money and think smart.
No matter how much we disagreed and fought, I never stopped loving you.
I loved you even more then because I knew you had your own individual thoughts.
I never told you how I would go into my room and cry silently so you would never know that I thought my little girl was growing up too fast for me.
My journey has come full circle, and yours has just begun.
We meet at last in search of forgiveness
I am the mother who out of ignorance
gave you to another.
Only photographs and letters I received
told me your story;
I missed out on all of it,
but I am now ready to assume my selfish mistake.
That is my secret.
Yet, how can I take you away from that "other"
who unselfishly gave her blood, sweat and tears for you?
I know with God all is possible,
So trust your intuition, that deep part of your soul.
I have played this scene in my mind so many times.
I thought I knew my words by heart.
But here and now all I can do is stare at you all grown up.
